"Can't recommend it strongly enough" IDRIS ELBA
"They blame us, like we’re the cause, we aint. We’re the f**king solution.
You gave us the streets, you gave us nothing but the streets, so we’ll own the streets"
Interval Productions bring their multi-award nominated ‘new kind of musical’, STREETS back, bigger and better than ever before, to The Vaults, for three shows only, supported by the Arts Council England.
Streets is an exciting, hard hitting piece of theatre that puts a microscope on a group of young friends growing up in London at the time of the 2011 riots. It uses a cross art form approach to tell its story, including beatboxing, rap, commercial dance, a live band and vocalists.
Join a group of friends as they struggle to make ends meet, making choices that will shape the rest of their lives. Watch them make mistakes, see them fall in and out of love, witness them facing impossible situations, and question.... what would YOU do?
'We are all products of our environments and there are reasons we make the choices we do. We're all so quick to judge each others' actions but what if you were faced with something unimaginable. Behind every closed door there is a story, we wanted to delve into that, look at an end result and work backwards. What factors caused it? What was inevitable? What could have been different? When did the beginning become the end?', says Interval's founder and STREETS co-writer, Tori Allen-Martin.
Streets received OFF WEST END.COM nominations for ‘Best New Musical’ and (Tori Allen-Martin & Sarah Henley for) ‘Most Promising Playwright/s’.
